Service Description

Youth Pottery Class: Ages 8–16 Sundays, 5–6pm | 6-Week Session September 27th , October 4th, 11th, 25th, November 1st, 8th Ready to spin some mud into magic? This fun, hands-on pottery class is designed for youth ages 8–16 who are eager to explore the world of clay! Students will spend time both on the pottery wheel and using handbuilding techniques, gaining experience in centering, shaping basic forms, trimming, and glazing. With a focus on process, creativity, and individual expression, this class encourages exploration while building foundational pottery skills. Young artists will have the opportunity to create functional and decorative pieces while developing confidence and technique. Parent/Guardian Participation Option: Parents and caregivers are welcome to join their child in the studio in one of two ways: Want to make pottery, too? A parent/guardian can register and pay for the class and participate alongside their child, creating their own projects and enjoying the full pottery experience. Just want to help? A parent or caregiver may accompany their child at no additional cost to provide assistance and encouragement. The accompanying adult is welcome to help their child but will not make their own projects. Whether your child works independently or with a little help from a grown-up, this class is a wonderful opportunity to create, learn, and spend time together! What to Bring: An apron or small towel Clothes that can get a little messy A sense of curiosity and a willingness to try! What’s Included: All materials: clay, glazes, and kiln firings Instruction in wheel throwing, handbuilding, and glazing techniques A creative, supportive learning environment Important Notes: No prior experience is needed A signed waiver is required for all participants Please plan for timely drop-off and pick-up This is a process-based class focused on skill-building and creative growth
