About
Founded in 2017, Washington Street Studios continues the vision of cofounder Phil Berneburg, a studio potter, geologist, ceramics engineer and former professor in Hood College’s graduate ceramics program. Phil’s passion for ceramics inspired him to create a space where people could learn, create, and connect through clay.
Phil founded Art Works For Good, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises funds for art education by collecting and selling pottery donated by artists. He also launched The Potters’ Round Table as an in-person gathering to share his expertise and foster community among ceramic artists.
Today, Washington Street Studios, Art Works For Good, and The Potters’ Round Table continue Phil’s legacy, supporting the ceramic arts and connecting people through creativity.
Phil Berneburg and Dennis Stark, Founders of Washington Street Studio, share their vision with Gerri Bermans and hear her thoughts on their vision.
