Service Description
In this class, students explore working with clay using handbuilding and basic sculpture techniques. Through demonstrations and hands-on projects, you’ll learn methods like pinch, coil, and slab building while creating both functional and sculptural pieces. We’ll also experiment with surface decoration and unique finishes such as texture, carving, slips, and glazes.
This class is designed for adults ages 18 and up and welcomes all experience levels, from beginners to those who have worked with clay before.
Tuition includes clay, glaze, firings, and access to studio tools, so everything you need is provided. Each session includes six 2-hour classes as well as an additional hour of open studio weeks 2-6 after class, giving you time to learn new techniques and develop your projects.
Whether you’re new to clay or looking to try new approaches, this class offers a relaxed and supportive environment to explore handbuilding and sculpture.
