About the event
This month we focus on electric kilns, with special emphasis on differences in the procedures used for firing compared to fuel-burning kilns. Electric kilns offer a number of advantages, but they also have shortcomings, and because of the apparent ease of operation, they can contribute to poor firing practices. We’ll talk about tips for avoiding problems and achieving better results. If you have questions about electric kiln firings, bring them to the meeting!
And don’t forget about Show and Tell! A segment early in the meetings to give the opportunity for everyone to talk a little about something of interest to them such as showing the pottery that they make, or a new source of information they have discovered, or anything else that might be of general interest. Please give back to our pottery community by bringing an item for 'Show and Tell'.
