About the event

There seem to be so many ways that bad things can happen to good pots. Defects in fired ceramics can originate with the clay, the glaze, as well as the actual firing process. As a follow-up to our three-part series on the different kinds of kilns, this month we’ll discuss problems with kiln operation and firing-related defects. If you have questions about defects or examples of problematic pieces that you’re curious about and would like to share, bring them to the meeting!

And don’t forget about Show and Tell! A segment early in the meetings to give the opportunity for everyone to talk a little about something of interest to them such as showing the pottery that they make, or a new source of information they have discovered, or anything else that might be of general interest. Please give back to our pottery community by bringing an item for 'Show and Tell'.
