Service Description
Simon will cover many tips and techniques, similar to the format of his YouTube videos, covering skills for beginners to advanced potters. Some of the topics the workshop will cover: Cylinder making …as the foundation of skills ( making a cylinder of 12oz to 5” x 3”) Wedging and kneading tips (posture, table height etc) Pulling handles Applying handles Lidded forms Teapots Tea bowls Footed bowls General purpose (GP) bowls Tools analysis How to trim When to trim How to fettle and thumb off As well as other topics as they are discussed! The Demonstration Workshop will be hosted at the Bolivar Community Center at 60 Panama Street. There is a Meet and Greet, with a presentation from Simon, on Friday night, October 27th, doors open at 6:30 pm and the talk starting at 7:00 pm. The workshop is on Saturday and Sunday, October 28th and 29th, with doors open at 8:30 am, and Simon will start at 9:00 am. There will be a break for lunch on both days, and the workshop will end around 4 pm. Simon will have a selection of his pots, and his tools available for sale during the workshop.
